Workflow Trigger Extensions

Start a workflow when a tag, a metafield, a price, an inventory level or an address changes, when a product is published to a channel, when a company or a market is updated, or when a shopper does something in your storefront. Every trigger carries the old and the new value.

What it does

Change detection

Triggers for products, variants, collections, customers, orders, draft orders, companies, discounts, metaobjects, metafields, publications, markets and locations.

Old and new value

Every change trigger tells the workflow what the value was before and what it is now, so conditions can compare the two.

Storefront behaviour

A web pixel reports product views, searches, cart and checkout events, gated on the shopper's analytics consent.

Ready-made templates

Flow templates for the most common use cases, Sidekick tools inside the Shopify admin and a Developer API with an MCP server.

How it works

98 triggers Shopify Flow does not have

1. Enable a trigger

Turn on the triggers you need in the app. Webhook-fed triggers fire within seconds, polled ones on a schedule you choose.

2. Use it in Shopify Flow

The trigger appears in the Flow editor with the full object, the old value and the new value as variables.

3. Watch the history

Every fired trigger is listed with its payload, so you can see exactly what Flow received and why.
