Shopify app

Workflow Functions

Write JavaScript or TypeScript in the app, pass it any Flow variable, and get the result back in the workflow. The code runs in an isolated sandbox with access to the Admin API, a key-value storage and outbound HTTP requests, so calculations, transformations and integrations that Flow cannot express become one step.

What it does

Code editor

Write and test the function in the admin with a live input and output. TypeScript is supported.

Isolated sandbox

Every run has its own isolate, a time limit and a memory limit. Your access token never enters the sandbox.

Admin API and fetch

Read and write store data through a mediated Admin GraphQL proxy and call other systems with fetch.

Run history

Every run is listed with input, output, logs and timings. Sync your functions with GitHub if you like.

How it works

Run your own code as a step in Shopify Flow

1. Write a function

Start from a template or a blank editor. Test it with sample input until the output is right.

2. Add Run Function in Flow

Pick the function in the Flow editor and map the Flow variables to its input.

3. Use the result

The output is available to the next steps of the workflow as variables.
